A few years later....

I had never intended to neglect my blog in such a way, but today I saw in black and white mention of it and I will admit I realised how remiss I have been.

Over the last few years I have developed more of my own style focusing mostly on older style bears, with a few dogs added for good measure. The dogs were an accidental make, I needed one to go with a bear but I drew it too big. Dog number two fitted the bear beautifully, having enjoyed making the dogs I decided a couple more would be good fun. Then someone kindly wrote a magazine article about the bear fair in Troon and said I had a 'new range of dogs'. That range consisted of three and at that point one of them had already been adopted! Frantic sewing and altering of pattern the range was born. Probably lucky at that point that I not only own three dogs but was also volunteering with the Dogs Trust in Glasgow so had plenty of models! With that Candi Kennels was born, now I am even more ambitious with standing dogs as well.

At present I am once again preparing for the bear fair in a Troon....... who knows I may even be able to update my blog again before then.

New Year? Only 3 months late

I promised myself that I would be far more organised, get my blog launched and update my web site. Unfortunately that promise to myself was when I set my blog up a few months ago. So, nearly Spring I am using this as my New Year, as far as Nature is concerned it is just that.

Locally there are lambs and calves in the fields so Spring is definitely sprung, my favourite time of year as it promises so much. The flowers are late this year and even on St. Patrick's day as it is today there are still only really snowdrops to be seen. I have been inspired by flowers for a range of bears. As there are snowdrops around here is my Snowdrop, a sweet bear bear made of extremely soft mohair. The paws are a delicate green ultrasuede, the head has been wobble jointed to the body so that it hangs in the way a snowdrops head does.
Blog started, web site to update next!
